You'll laugh but I initially joined the Army over a guy. His name was Andrew Watts and he was station at Fort Gordon, Georgia and we were Penpals for several years. He wrote me everyday like clock work and I wrote just the same. He would put money in a pay phone to call me. He was the man I first fell in love with and I was going to lose my virginity too. Unfortunately, by the time I got orders to go to the Base he was station he PCS out and I was stuck without him. I had signed my life away for 8yrs and he was nowhere to be found and never responded back to a letter. Months went by and I rebounded and ended up marrying another Soldier but it wasn't him. We just never connected. When I was at Fort Polk he flew to California to meet with my parents something my Exhusband never did and now I am divorced after 11years and I often wonder if he ever thinks of me or if he's single or still available? Andrew asked my parents for permission to marry me and I ran away and married someone that I had no feelings for and it was the worst mistake I had ever made....He was the only man I've ever met that accepted me and my family and loved me for all my imperfections....Andrew if your out there and there is still a chance with you, please email me.

Hi,

That is a odd request. Yes, I am single but in America you have to come meet and date and see if things work out.

I know the Navy side has what's called the 'navy locator' that helps civilians locate sailors whereever they are stationed....Not sure if there's an Army version of that, but you might start out on the Army's website and see if they have a service like that....I'm curious now to find out if there is...Let me know if there's any help I can give you....

Cheers

It's a true story...unfortunately. I wish that I could find Andrew Watts. Unfortunately, I wouldn't know where to look. Would you?

What a story!

Almost sounds like a 'movie for the 21st century'.....lol!!

All kidding aside, and not intending to poke fun at you, I found your story about your lost love very heart-warming, and it just goes to illustrate that we often do things when we're younger what we wouldn't even consider doing when we're older and wiser....

I wish you good luck in your search dear lady, and hope that one day you find the happiness that you're looking for....

Best Regards,

ianw3
